Funks and Blue2: I’d much rather be a philosopher than a regular reporter. If you could change my position, that would be great.
Hello. I’ve decided to come to you with a topic that is buried among mainstream talk and clichés. This HAS been talked about before, but not in a while. This is about what WE, the CP Warfare Community, teaches YOU, the troop.
Joining CP armies was only fun back in the day, and while it still is, the warfare community has evolved. It has evolved from a mass of 7 to 11 year-old children randomly going on Club Penguin to battle into a complex organization of morals and skills arisen by teenagers often around 15 or 16. These teenagers, along with advanced 12 and 13 year olds, formed what we know today. But the biggest change is that we are a learning experience in the common eye.
I am physical proof that armies ARE a learning experience. Once I joined Ice Vikings back in 2010, I was around people who didn’t often use grammar. But some of them did. They were the ones I took lessons from. From then on, I was hired into CPAC in January 2011. Ever since, I’ve been improving and improving. My grammatical skill has increased, and this had a positive affect on my Language Arts grades. Yes, CP armies do help you in Language Arts. You learn MANY new terms, new ways of writing, and what to do and what not to do by older children in the game. The lessons to not stop there. There is another subject it helps.
Social Studies is a subject that is helped as well by the CP Army Community. But how? Simple. Some armies have constitutions. A constitution is a written plan of self-government. Government is learned here from older troops, which allows us to understand topics such as Democracy, the Founding Documents, Government, and wars, most often caused by a lack of control in one country’s government. Some people make metaphors or analogies to actual wars in the case of CP Warfare as well, allowing us to further understand the topic.
The major help through this in school is spelling and grammar, as stated earlier. As your grammar improves, you will be able to write better, which benefits ALL subjects, even Math! While the nation’s intelligence decreases due to mainstream crap cramming our brains and making us believe such naive thoughts, such as “school sucks”, “being smart is not cool”, and “be like the popular crowd”, we can change this through what we learn in armies. We learn that thinking what the big crowd thinks is almost never the best option, because you lose your independence. We need to be our own self.
Moving past academic gains, we move onto social gains. From this, you learn to respect people. You learn to understand what people mean, and to accept a person’s belief as if it was your own, and treat it as such. Respect is a large thing in CP Warfare, and while not often enforced, is valued in most armies. (The following part means no offense to any armies mentioned.) Armies in the past and present like the Light Troops, UMA on some occasions, and some other armies have insulted and tarnished the named of armies while some other armies remain respectful and only enjoy wars without frequent arguments and flaming towards the opponent. Like just explained, I enjoy a respectful war.
Another benefit, and the final one I will explain, is leadership and self-confidence. While most people view armies as a getaway from your daily life, some view it as a job. People who do this can EASILY benefit because of their leadership. They learn to manage an army, which represents a company, and keep it’s workers, or troops in this case, active, and happy. These things to a leader will benefit them so much more upon growing up and searching for a job. If they know how to manage a large operation online, chances are they can adapt to doing it with real people in an office or workspace. This builds a sense of self-confidence in the leader, as they know they are ahead of some people in getting ready for the real world.
While there are a few more reasons, if I explain them, this post will get tiring. I don’t wish to bore you, so just take away something from this. Noticing things, even the smallest things, from posts, leaders, or your fellow troops, you can have a learning experience to benefit you academically, socially, and occupationally. If only one person takes something away from this post, I know it worked. Farewell for now, my friends. For I shall see you at a later date, at a later time, in the same location, here at Club Penguin Army Central. Ciao.
~Zak
