Partnership with SMAC

During the past few days CPAC and SMAC heads have been negotiating a link between the two sites. I can now announce CPAC will be partnering with SMAC.

CPAC will mainly be partnering with SMAC to promote the existence of Small and Medium armies and to provide an official link between Small, medium and large armies. This will give Small and Medium armies more of a voice and will direct people looking for news of that section to the official site for small and medium armies.

Unlike last time, SMAC will not be a branch of CPAC. They will have the freedom that they always have but this is one of the many steps CPAC and SMAC are taking to build bridges between Small/Medium armies and large armies and to keep the essence of Small and Medium armies alive. Even though SMAC are not a branch of CPAC, they will put on the CPANN. Here are the other things we will do to promote SMAC:

  • Like Before, the SMAC sever page will be linked at the top of our server page to stop confusion.
  • SMAC’s banner will be on the right widget near the top.
  • SMAC will be listed on the CPANN page as an offical partner.
  • The Small and Medium top tens will be put on our widgets with a link going to the SMAC top ten(s).
  • SMAC tournament links will be on our widgets and on post’s.
  • A monthly update on SMAC and Small/Medium armies!

As you can see we are doing our best to promote SMAC and to build the small and medium army community. On behalf of the CPAC administative staff we hope this link builds and works as a strong relationship. Thanks to Pungy and Splasher as well for accepting the proposition.

I’m so glad that we’re finally getting somewhere. I think this duo could work out perfectly.

yaaa f cpae smac is where its at

  3. Kraken.II Lord Kronos says:

SMAC is way better than CPAC, CPAC should shut down.

  4. nicksman says:

    what does “cpann” mean?

  5. I mean, I guess this is good, and forgive me for the following rant, because this is helpful…

buuuuuut the pissed off part of me almost wishes we weren’t helping SMAC. Not only did I create them, but I created them as a branch of CPAC. They were here to extend our reporting capabilities to lower armies without clogging up the networks of the news empire I was trying to create.

Then once I retired, Grant asked me to make him Main Owner of the site (which made it so I wasn’t anymore), which I agreed to because I trusted him. Then, he (or whoever was leading then, I don’t know who is now) broke off like it was no big deal, which to me was treacherous, and a stab in the back.

Their hits fell drastically, and I can tell you this cause I was still on the site, so I saw the stats. There was a multiple month long dip where their hits dropped to below half of their highest months. And now they try to join back up? It just doesn’t seem right that they benefit after they did that. At this rate, they’re already going to improve their hits this week to at least the highest amount of hits they’ve gotten any given week in the past half a year.

And on a side note, they had complete freedom. If that’s one of their excuses then it’s just dumb. All I did was look at the site to read the news. Other than that they were a branch of the same network the CPAC is a branch of. CPAC is just the largest of them.

Correct me if I’m wrong on anything, but that’s what I’ve been told by a lot of people.

Like I said at the beginning, forgive the rant. I know this is good, but I don’t get why they didn’t just ask to be upgraded to a partner instead of waiting for me to retire and disconnecting. I would’ve happily given them the spot back then.

  6. Gσяdy says:

    1. I don’t see the difference between a partnership and being a branch of CPAC
    2. SMAC wasn’t even meant to be a separate site, it was supposed to be a BRANCH of CPAC LIKE IT WAS BACK THEN
    3. Is it just me or is SMAC doing this for hits?
    4. Why would you have to partner with SMAC to “promote small armies” and “provide a link between large and small armies”?
    5. Since CPAE is basically dead, CPANN is gone now? Because I don’t see any more news sites other than CPAA and SMAC
    6. You can “promote” SMAC without making it a partner of CPAC
    7. I don’t see a problem with SMAC being a branch of CPAC
    8. Notice that I didn’t say “branch under CPAC”; just because they have fewer hits doesn’t mean they’re a branch under CPAC
    9. What authority does SMAC have over other news sites that prompted you to promote them?
    10. Why are you helping SMAC? Just post about small armies ON HERE
