Retirement from Xat, Army, or Both?

The topic of retiring from an army but still staying on chat, enforcing army rules, talking with friends, attending events once in a while, doesn’t seem as much of a retirement I’d like to have. In fact, I highly doubt that is retirement at all. You’ve essentially quit the army, but if you’re not going to learn anything or go outside and get a life, then what’s the point?

You probably don’t know what retirement is. I’ll have to back up for you, because I can just hear you begging me to. It’s when someone stops attending events for  [a single] army/ies.  You don’t get a pension or anything like a normal retirement. You just quit the army. My advice? Don’t retire until you’re a decent owner rank in your army. Who would care if a new recruit retired 5 minutes into an army? Nobody.

I can guarantee you that any army has leaders that have retired (other than IW, but I’ll talk about that in another post). Here’s an example.

  • Oagalthorp: ACP Leader & Creator – Retired.
  • Fort57: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Dr Nono Jr: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Rapidy: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Kg 007: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Shaboomboom: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Boomer 20: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Saint1119: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Dryvit: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Shaboomboom (2): ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Seanehawk: ACP Leader – Overthrown.
  • Boomer 20 (2): ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Saint1119 (2): ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Dr Nono Jr: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Iasgae56: ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Shaboomboom (3): ACP Leader – Retired.
  • Matre10: ACP Leader – Retired.

Looking closely at the list, I could see that some leaders had retired not once, but up to twice and three times. What? How can you retire three times? Why would someone be so inconsistent so as to come out of retirement twice?

Shaboomboom: ACP Leader – Retired.

Shaboomboom (2): ACP Leader – Retired.

Shaboomboom (3): ACP Leader – Retired.

Now I can’t blame Shab for getting a little too bored with retirement every now and then, but you don’t have to come back every time you want to kill some time, just to retire again. A lot of the other retired ACP leaders have come on chat every now and then, such as Rapidy, Kg, Oagal, Boomer, etc.

To keep idiots from assuming this post is Anti ACP, I’ll have to examine another leaders table.

  • Ambrosha: DW Creator/ DW Leader – Retired.
  • Elite 910: DW Creator/ DW Leader -  Retired.
  • 123 Antonov: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Hammerzboy: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Dreamguitar (Fallen): DW Leader – Currently Advisor.
  • Feephill (SaW): DW Leader – Currently Advisor.
  • Circa: DW Leader – Retired
  • Donut76890: DW Leader – Currently Advisor.
  • Shadowclub6: DW Leader – Retired
  • Motoxjohn: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Khimo: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Chuckisthe2: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Lorenzo Bean: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Shaboomboom: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Hurricanex1: DW Leader – Retired.
  • DR1FT3R: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Nic: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Shallow57: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Orange224: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Hedcog: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Thekid18: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Phipy: DW Leader – Retired.
  • Shadowclub6 (2): DW Leader – Retired.
  • Khimo (2): DW Leader – Retired.
  • Circa (2): DW Leader – Retired.
  • SaW: DW Leader – *Currently Leader*
  • Shadowclub6 (3): DW Leader – *Currently Leader*
I actually used to be scared of DW because of their leader SaW, because he’s notorious for hacking. As it turns out, he’s a pretty good leader when he has to be. Anyways, a lot of the people who retire I have seen on CP and/or on chat. Either they’re inconsistent or I might be wrong about something.
In fact, I think I am. Why am I talking about retiring from an army when I should be talking about retiring from the community altogether and from xat? Of course. That’s why nobody gets their ass out of here once they retire. For a second there, I was thinking that once one person retired from an army, he retired from all armies. Hence you see Khimo in over 5 armies. Holy crap, someone’s shooting for the moon. Obviously, Khimo retired from all these armies at different times, because every time he retires I see him visit IW chat the following week.
My main point here is that once you retire from an army, you should just stay away from it for the rest of your life. Have you seen old WWI veterans return to fight in WWII?
No. But I shouldn’t be comparing CP to reality, because last I heard, the oldest soldier in our community is around 18. The same applies when you quit from Xat, but unfortunately, you just can’t let go of your newfound friends no matter how you do it. Good luck and have fun.
Another problem is that once you retire, the current leader often gives you a prestigious position on chat, such as advisor, moderator, or even owner. Why the leader would be expecting a retiree to come on every day even after

retiring is beyond me. If any, you’re just giving the person a reason to keep visiting and eventually come back, not having any moments of peace at all. Now, seriously, why would you want a retiree to keep working for your army? It’s like you don’t expect your new leader to do any better than your old one. Do you think that helps the leader do any better? I thought not.
Others would argue that one so respected and highly efficient would deserve to get mod and owner on a chat, but when the person eventually isn’t going to come back at all, then his account is ripe to be pass guessed or hacked or phished or something, and the owner will come snapping right back at you. Not to mention that you would have strained so much energy in giving him that spot.

Urgh, clicking the “Make Moderator” button is such a burden for me to hold upon my back, my fingers are much too flimsy and dis-coordinated for me to handle.

I could rant about this topic on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on BUT it’s currently late night right now, and as much as I hate people who do this sort of  thing, I need my sleep. You better have enjoyed the post, and I’ll see you next time, readers.
